Our History

Community and voluntary activity has a long and established history in Waltham Forest, Unfortunately we have been without a local infrastructure body for more than a decade.

In 2024 the council asked local groups about who would be interested in setting up a new council for voluntary services, A group of 15 volunteers from the sector came together to contribute hundreds of hours to help the wider sector in designing and developing a new organisation.

In the spring of 2025, the organisation recruited a coordinator and a communications and memberships officer.

In August 2025 we became a registered charity. We held our inaugural AGM in November 2025.
