1. Our Commitment

Waltham Forest Council for Voluntary Service (WFCVS) is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of disability, technology or circumstance. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard.

As a voluntary sector infrastructure organisation, we believe that accessibility is fundamental to inclusion and equity. We want everyone in Waltham Forest’s community, voluntary, faith and social enterprise sector to be able to access our information and services.

2. What We Are Doing

We are taking the following steps to make our website accessible:

•       Using clear, plain language throughout our content

•       Ensuring sufficient colour contrast between text and background

•       Providing alternative text for all meaningful images

•       Making sure the website can be navigated using a keyboard alone

•       Using a logical heading structure throughout all pages

•       Ensuring forms are clearly labelled and accessible

•       Making documents available in accessible formats where possible

•       Testing the site with screen readers and accessibility tools

3. Known Issues

We are aware that some parts of our website may not yet be fully accessible. Known issues include:

•       Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible. We are working to replace these with accessible versions

•       Some third-party content or embedded tools may not meet accessibility standards

We are actively working to address these issues and improve accessibility across the site.

4. Accessible Formats

If you need information from our website in a different format such as large print, easy read, audio recording, or braille, please contact us. We will do our best to provide the information in a suitable format within a reasonable timeframe.
